Athletics and Activities

Huron Activities and Athletics are built on a strong foundation of tradition, pride, and excellence—values that have been clear to me from the moment I stepped into this role as the district’s Director of Activities and Athletics. Whether it’s the fight song echoing through the hallways, the sound of whistles during a challenging practice, or the cheers from families applauding our student-athletes’ hard work, the energy and spirit of Huron are truly inspiring.

These traditions are what make Huron so special. From the moment our football players and coaches touch the Huron helmet before taking the field, to our volleyball program’s continued success as one of the best in Ohio, each of our athletic teams carries forward a legacy of pride, dedication, and community support. That legacy has been built through the commitment of our students, families, staff, and the broader Huron community.

I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who has welcomed me and supported this transition. I am honored to serve in this role and excited for what’s ahead. It’s a privilege to contribute to the continued growth of our programs and help ensure Huron remains a place of opportunity, excellence, and school pride.

Here’s to a great year ahead—Go Tigers!

Warm regards,
Matthew Ayers
