ParentSquare Information for Families and Guests

We’re making communication easier and more consistent for Huron City Schools and our community. As of July 1, 2025, ParentSquare will serve as the district’s primary communication platform, alongside the launch of our brand-new district website.

What to Expect?
ParentSquare is now the ONLY communication platform for district, building, classroom, group, and extracurricular (including athletics and activities) communication and updates. Apps like Dojo, Remind, TeamReach, GameChanger, OneCall, etc., will no longer be used. FinalForms and ProgressBook will be used for grades, forms, and academic records.

  • Receive messages from the school via email, text, or app notification

  • You choose how often to receive notifications: Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once with a daily digest at 6 p.m.

  • Communicate in your preferred language

  • Comment on school postings to engage with your school community

  • Direct message teachers, staff, and other parents

  • Chat in group messages

  • Sign up for parent-teacher conferences

  • Receive report cards

  • Sign up to volunteer

  • … and more from your desktop or mobile device

Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

  • Parents/guardians, staff members, and students in grades K-12 do not need to sign up for ParentSquare, but can simply log into their accounts using their Huron City Schools email address or email address associated with their FinalForms account.

To log in, go to the ParentSquare website. If you are already logged into your Huron City Schools associated email through your browser, click "sign in with Google" or "sign in with Microsoft." Or, download the app from Apple or Google.

From there, we suggest you adjust your notification settings.

*If you are a guest or need guest access, please contact the school for assistance (419-433-1234 x 5000)
*If you are both a parent and staff member
, and you have the option to "merge accounts”.

  • You may have accidentally blocked text messages from ParentSquare on your phone.

    • Text “START” to 66458 to re-enable your text messages.

    • If the problem continues, contact your school administrator for assistance.

If you blocked texts because you received too many of them, you can instead adjust your notification settings. Select "off" or "digest."

  • Once you have registered your account, you can adjust your notification settings to determine which communication methods you prefer – email, text, or mobile app – and how often you would like to receive these notifications

    You have three options:

    • Instant: Receive all messages instantly

    • Digest: Receive all messages together in one daily communication around 6:00 PM*

    • Off: No notifications are sent.* You can check the app for notifications at your leisure.

*Regardless of your notification settings, you will continue to receive emergency notifications instantly. This will include snow cancellation messages.

Please note that if you reply “STOP” to opt out of text notifications, you cannot resume receiving text messages unless you text “START” to 66458.

  • Notification Setting Options

In ParentSquare, parents/caregivers, staff, and students in grades K-12 have three options for how often they receive notifications from the platform:

    • Instant: Receive all messages instantly

    • Digest: Receive all messages together in one daily communication around 6 PM.*

    • Off: No notifications are sent.*

*Please note: Regardless of your notification settings, you will continue to receive emergency notifications instantly. These notifications can be sent in the following ways: 1) A “Post” that is set to send immediately; 2) A Smart Alert, or 3) An Urgent Alert. In addition, Direct Messages can still be received.

Advice on Notification Settings and Alerts

If you feel you are receiving too many messages from ParentSquare, we advise you to log into your account and select “Notification Settings”, then select “Digest”. Then, make sure “School Alerts” is selected as “On”.

By doing this, you will receive all notifications at about 6:00 PM, with the exception of “School Alerts” or “Smart Alerts”, used to communicate important information. The most severe emergency alerts are labeled “Urgent Alerts,” which cannot be disabled; you will receive “Urgent Alerts” regardless of your settings, as these are intended to be used sparingly.

You also have the option to select “Off” in Notification Settings, but to keep “School Alerts” selected “On.”

Changing Settings vs. Opting Out of Texts

Digest or Off: If you do not want to receive all messages instantly, we encourage you to select the “Digest” or “Off” notifications in the “Notifications Settings” feature. This allows you to customize how often you receive message alerts via text or app.

Opting Out of Text Messages Via Text: You have the option to opt out of text messages altogether by replying “STOP” to a text message you receive. However, by doing this, you cannot begin receiving text messages again unless you text “START” to 66458. Instead, we suggest you adjust your Notification Settings as described above.

We encourage all parents and caregivers to download the ParentSquare app from the Apple Store or Google Play Store, and to register your accounts.

Multiple Phone or Email Accounts Listed

If you have multiple phones or emails listed in your account, you may set the order of your preferred contacts to receive notifications. Notifications will only be sent to one email and one phone on your account.

  • All Users: Update your contact information in FinalForms. It will automatically sync with ParentSquare.

*You cannot update your contact information directly in ParentSquare.

  • If you are missing a child/school, it may be because:

    • Your contact information does not match what we have in FinalForms.

    • You have more than one ParentSquare account with different contact information

To add a child or school:

Update your contact information in FinalForms and make sure it is the same for all your children.

Staff Members Who Are Also Parents

As a staff member and a parent, you will be able to have both your staff contacts and your parent contacts linked to the same account. Please "merge/combine" accounts.

    • If you have a district-issued staff email on your staff record and a personal email address on your parent record, multiple accounts may have been created for you.

    • If you already have the same phone listed on your staff and parent accounts, your accounts can be easily linked. The accounts will merge automatically once you complete the verification process and confirm both accounts. After this, both emails will be listed on your account, but you will be required to use your staff email to log in.

    • If you already have separate registered accounts under different emails/phones, you can use the Combine Account option to merge them.

  • Go to the ParentSquare website and on the login page, click “Forgot Password.” Put in your email or phone number, and you will be sent a link to reset your password.

  • ParentSquare will automatically appear in the set language of a user's device, but you also have the option to change the language.
