New Staff Spotlight: Meet Our Registered Behavior Technician, Kearra Williams
Huron City Schools is excited to welcome Kearra Williams as our new Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)! An RBT is a trained professional who helps students build skills, practice positive behaviors, and receive consistent support throughout the school day. Kearra works directly with students, teachers, and staff, making sure every child has what they need to succeed.
Here’s a chance to get to know Kearra a little better:
What inspired you to become an RBT?
I’ve always loved working with students, especially those who need a little extra support. Becoming an RBT gave me the opportunity to be hands-on with both students and staff, focusing on positive behavior and skill-building.
What part of working in schools are you most excited about this year?
I’m really excited to build relationships and be a part of the Huron community. Moving here from Florida, this is a fresh start, and I can’t wait to support students in meaningful ways.
How do you see your role in helping support students, staff, and families?
-
Students: By helping them practice positive behaviors and celebrating their progress.
-
Staff: By providing strategies and support that make the classroom run smoothly.
-
Families: By working as part of the school team so families can feel confident their child is supported every day.
What’s one goal you have for your first year in Huron?
To connect with students and staff and become a trusted resource in the building.
