Even though Phil saw his shadow, we're already thinking about fall! We're excited to announce that preschool and kindergarten registration is now open. If you have a little one ready to start their educational journey, here's what you need to know.

PRESCHOOL:
SCREENING DETAILS
Dates: April 1 and 2, 2026
Location: Woodlands Elementary, 1810 Maple Ave.
Eligibility: Children must be 3 years old by August 24, 2026
*Parents/Guardians are required to accompany their child to the screening.

REGISTRATION PROCESS 
Step 1: Pick Up Your Packet
Starting Tuesday, February 17, pick up your preschool packet at the Woodlands Elementary front office during school hours.
Step 2: Complete and Return Documentation
Complete all forms in your packet and return them with required documentation no later than Friday, March 13.
Step 3: Complete Online Registration
Huron City Schools uses FinalForms for online registration. During the week of May 4, you will receive an email (if accepted) with a link to confirm your account and set up your password. Click on the incomplete forms button and complete all forms for your student.
*Your registration will be considered completed when you have submitted your packet (Steps 1 and 2) and finished all online forms (Step 3).

*Preschool enrollment is for Huron City School District resident students only. Open enrollment applies to grades K-12. For questions, please contact the Registration Office.

KINDERGARTEN:
Who Should Register Now? Huron City School District residents can register immediately. Non-residents should apply for open enrollment first (applications accepted March 1 through May 31) and complete registration after approval.

Important Note for Current Preschool Families: If your child is currently enrolled in Huron City Schools Preschool, you're all set! Our preschool staff will notify the district about students transitioning to kindergarten. You'll receive information about kindergarten screening in late April and won't need to update forms until July 1, 2026.

How to Register: All new families should follow these steps:

1. Create an account in FinalForms
2. Log in as a user with your new credentials and complete all forms for the 2026-27 school year (look for the blue button to switch to 2026-27 Registration)
3. Upload required documents:
   • Student's birth certificate
   • Immunization records
   • Valid parent/guardian photo ID
   • Two current proofs of residency (within 30 days): utility bill, lease/mortgage statement, bank statement, or government correspondence

What Happens Next? After you complete registration, you'll receive an email in late April with details about signing up for kindergarten screening
